Roosters winger Daniel Tupou and prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves have been ruled out forcing a reshuffle.

Meanwhile, Bulldogs back-rower Jacob Preston could be a late inclusion as he bids to return from a jaw injury.

Late Mail: Prop Payne Haas, who made a successful return from a knee injury against the Tigers last week, didn’t finish Brisbane’s captain run on Thursday. Haas tweaked his recently operated knee according to The Courier Mail, leaving the field to receive treatment. Coach Kevin Walters said Haas will be given until game day to prove his fitness. If he can’t go, it appears rookie Ben Te Kura will take Haas’ spot, considering the impressive youngster trained with the main squad when the superstar prop left for treatment. “Payne wasn’t too good (on Thursday morning) but we will see how he goes (on Friday),” Walters said. “We will give him until kick-off, but if he’s not fit he won’t play. “If he is fit and ready, we will play him. “He has had a little bit of trouble with his knee. I would say he is playing tomorrow, but we’ll wait and see how he pulls up. “It was more of an issue after the (Tigers) game, his knee swelled up. He didn’t play big minutes but it was a bit sore after the game and it hasn’t settled too well.” Outside back Kotoni Staggs is also in doubt after carrying a knee issue this week following the Tigers game. Like Haas, he’ll have to pass a fitness test on game day in order to line up against the Roosters. “Kotoni was a little bit up and down as well (at training), he is the other one that still has a bit of a concern,” Walters said. “He is pretty tough old ‘Tones’, so I’d be expecting him to play.” Five-eighth Ezra Mam (finger) and centre Selwyn Cobbo (shoulder) are set to return from injury.
